CBG Pastors to Spoof High School Musical???

January 17, 2008

Rumor has it that the pastors @ CBG are going to preform, record and show a spoof of High School Musical during the next series (Reel Stories: February 2/3 – March 15/16).  Here is a little preview of the orginial clip:

This is sure to be ridiculous…even more so than the Blues Brothers routine done on January 5/6 (I hope to have a clip of that soon).  Who said church is boring?

Skiing Video…

You might be wondering what it would look like if you took a bunch of metal and formed it into a bucket, placed it on a heavy duty wire and cramped 8 people into it…well, here you go!

We were actually stuck in this thing for like 15 minutes (felt like 3 hours)…it wasn’t fun.  All we had was Kenny’s singing to keep us sane…that’s scary…

Look at all the closed eyes! Gotta love those red-eye reduction, multiple flash cameras!!! BTW, Kenny is deathly ill in this shot…hence, the look of death…

Hitting the Slopes…

January 10, 2008

Hey blog…it’s been a while!  Since the last time we spoke, a lot has gone on:

  1. I had a great Christmas with family and friends.  I received several thoughtful gifts.  The most thoughtful was from my wife…she allowed me to get a PS3.  That thing is amazing!  We recently got Rock Band too.  What a fantastic group game!  I have been rocking the mic while my wife has been backing my up on the drums and guitar.
  2. Christmas Services at CBG were amazing.  Over 6300 people attended 1 of our 9 services.  God did some amazing things.  The worship team and Pastor David did an excellent job as usually.  We baptized over 30 people on the spot!
  3. I spent New Year’s Eve with some of the best friends a guy and his wife could have.  We chilled out and eat Pozole (a favorite Mexican dish of our friends) and Chili (homemade by my wife) to ring in the new year.  Both dishes were fantastic!
  4. We continue to see awesome growth-both spiritually and physically-at CBG.  Last weekend we were up 35% over the previous year (over 3400 total for the weekend).  People, for some reason, keep showing up.  In addition, I have had some amazing conversations with people about how God is challenging them to take a “Next Step” in their life.
  5. RIGHT NOW, I am on CBG’s annual ski retreat.  We are in Park City, Utah this year.  The mountain is amazing.  Tomorrow, we plan on hitting up Deer Valley–one of the nations best ski resorts.  I hope to have some pictures for you.  In fact, I would already, but my cell phone crapped out today.

Well blog, I hope things are good with you.  I will be in touch!
