Ben Stein…seriously???

There is a new movie, Get Expelled, that will talk about the Intelligent Design theory hitting theaters on April 18th.

Honestly, I am glad that there are people out there who want to discuss ID as (at least) a possible theory in support of creationism, but the best face you could get is Ben Stein??? I don’t know much about Ben. I don’t know much about his religious views either. I see him on the news every once in awhile, and I typically agree with what he says. But this is Ferris Bueller’s economics teacher most notably known for: Bueller…Bueller (said in the most monotoned voice one can achieve).

Why not William Hung instead…at least William is entertaining…

Seriously, if you are looking for a book on the topic, the best one I have read is The Case for a Creator by Lee Storbel. I give copies of this book away to people who express interested in the topic. I think it’s that good! You can get a paperback 6-pack edition for like $25.

Like it or not, the name Ben Stein is far more well known in most circles than the name of Lee Strobel. In fact, over the past several years, he has been quite the conservative political commentator. As such, his movie may actually mean something in the big scheme of things.

I, for one, hope the movie helps bring the concept of ID out of the realm of the mystical, into the realm of the probable for more folks.

By the way, I am a huge fan of Strobel.

There. It’s done. My first ever blog comment.
