For instance, I consider myself politically liberal or progressive, but on issues such as gay marriage I do not think it is biblically viable even if the larger society does. But I see no reason to prohibit, however, civil unions–just not calling it marriage. I don’t feel it is appropriate to “lump” a disparate group into the category “liberal” and proceed to “dis” it.
